A serious car accident happened yesterday evening in the village of Zęblak, on the “Korçë-Bilisht” road axis, where the collision between two vehicles proved fatal for a 24-year-old Greek woman.

Dynamics of the Accident
From the preliminary investigations, it is suspected that both vehicles were speeding beyond the permitted limits. The driver of the Peugeot vehicle made a wrong maneuver, swerving suddenly to avoid an animal that had come in front of him. This fatal maneuver led to a head-on collision with the other vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz, which was moving in the opposite lane.
Consequences of the collision:
The 24-year-old Greek woman, passenger in the Peugeot, died on the spot from the strong collision.
The two young Greeks, who lived in Thessaloniki, had come to Albania to celebrate the end of the year.
Investigations and Proceedings
The body of the victim was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana for examination and further procedures, given that she was a foreign citizen. In the meantime, the police continue their investigations to clarify all the circumstances of the accident.
